Liminal Group

Members of Liminal Faculty aspire to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively upon the coaching profession; are respectful of different approaches to coaching; and will conduct themselves in accordance with the Liminal Group Code of Ethics and Conduct in all coach training, coach mentoring, and coach supervisory activities and recognize that they are also bound by applicable laws and regulations.

1. Will maintain confidentiality as a first priority. Will have a clear agreement upon how coaching information will be exchanged among coach, client, and sponsor. And will have a clear agreement or contract before releasing information to another person, unless required by law.

2. Will not knowingly make any public statement that is untrue or misleading about what the coach offers or make false claims in any written documents relating to the coaching profession or credentials or Liminal Group.

3. Will accurately identify coaching qualifications, expertise, experience, degrees, certifications and credentials. Will not knowingly mislead or make false claims about what the client or sponsor will receive from the coaching process or from the coach.

4. Will, at all times, strive to recognize personal issues that may impair, conflict, or interfere with an objective coaching performance or any professional coaching relationships. Whenever the facts and circumstances necessitate, will promptly seek professional assistance and determine the action to be taken, including whether it is appropriate to suspend or terminate the coaching relationship(s). And when appropriate, (E.G. if there isn’t a good fit between the client and the Faculty Member) and after consulting with Liminal Group will make a referral to another Liminal Faculty Member.

5. Will not enter into business deals with the candidate or use a personal agenda for their own gain.

6. Will seek to avoid conflicts of interest and potential conflicts of interest and openly disclose any such conflicts. And will offer to be removed when such a conflict arises.

7. Will provide full disclosure to the client and his or her sponsor all anticipated compensation from third parties that may be paid or received for referrals of that client.

8. Will only barter for services, goods or other non-monetary remuneration when it will not impair the coaching relationship.

9. Will not knowingly take any personal, professional, or monetary advantage or benefit of the coach-client relationship, except by a form of compensation as agreed in the agreement or statement of work.

10. Will recognize and honor the efforts and contributions of others and not misrepresent them as their own.

11. Will not become romantically involved with any current clients or sponsors.
